Workshop: Talk Show Techniques

In today’s multi-media channel world, traditional public speaking has been transformed by the multitude of opportunities to appear in public. From being a host or guest of a podcast, to starring in videos on social media or even appearing on local radio and national TV, there are key techniques which will help to make your appearance more impactful. Afterall these are the places where ideas and brands are now discussed and sold.

Hosted by CIPR North East's 'Communicator of the Year 2023', former BBC radio presenter, stand-up comedian and Ted-X talk veteran, Alfie Joey, this workshop will be packed full of practical advice on how to make the most of any media appearance.

The workshop will include:

- Body language and vocal techniques
- How to engage and adapt to your audience
- How to be the best guest or host on a panel or podcast
- Secrets for taking your speaking to the next level

About Our Subject Expert
Alfie's comedic style is characterised by his relatable and observational humour, which often centres around his own experiences and perspectives on life. He is also known for his impressions of famous figures, including Tony Blair and Simon Cowell. Something which led to an appearance on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, an appearance that was watched by over 10 million people on prime-time TV and has been viewed over three million times on YouTube.

In addition to his work as an entertainer, Alfie is a highly regarded illustrator, broadcaster, podcaster, communication coach, TedX speaker, impressionist, interviewer, charity auctioneer, motivator, children's author... take your pick!
