Dragon Boat Race

3 September 2022, 09:00 - 15:00

Newcastle’s Quayside Law Courts, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 3LA

ONLY FOUR PLACES REMAINING

Thanks to our members and partners we have already smashed our 20th Anniversary £20k charity target. However now the legs have recovered and the blisters have subsided we thought we would once again sign up to take part in a crazy charity challenge – hopefully adding a few more pennies to the pot!

We’ve been asked by the Children's Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) to enter a team of adventurous entrepreneurs (no experience necessary) into Newcastle’s annual Dragon Boat Race. We thought this sounded like a great opportunity for our members to network with each whilst having fun on the water and raising a few quid for CHUF.

So we’re looking for competitive entrepreneurs to come and make up a team of 16 (plus a drummer) on Saturday 3rd September - If we can make up two boats, even better.

We’ll organise all the equipment you need and keep you fed and hydrated over the day.

It promises to be an exciting day and with lots of activities happening on the quayside (face painting/lantern building) so why not invite your friends and family down to cheer you on.

The Small Print

All participants are required to make a £100 charity donation to CHUF.

The Children’s Heart Unit Fund support children and their families who receive treatment at the Freeman Hospital and many other hospitals providing care for cardiac patients in the north of England. The money raised will help CHUF to fund holistic services such as the Clown Doctor programme. These specialist play therapists and performers are a lifeline for families who are stuck on the ward for long periods of time; they can aide speedier recoveries, tackle isolation, build children’s confidence and help raise smiles all round during the darkest moments.
