Fortune Favours the Brave

17 November 2016, 08:00 - 17:00

Redworth Hall Hotel, Surtees Road, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham DL5 6NT

Sponsored by Recognition PR and hosted by our favourite British radio consultant, entrepreneur and presenter John Myers, Fortune Favours the Brave is your chance to hear from inspirational speakers who are both leading and doing great things to grow dynamic businesses.

Once again set at Redworth Hall in Co. Durham, the day promises an enthralling journey of high-flying stories and unique opportunities for making new connections; but our conference isn’t just about the speakers, it’s also about being inspired by the people in the room, making the ‘right connections’ and being stimulated by insights from within your peer group.

This year we will be joined by speakers including Robert Forrester, Vertu Motors Plc; Justin Grace, Team GB Cycling Sprint Coach, Cameron Saul, founder of Bottletop, Keith, Jacqui & Gary Miller, Miller UK Ltd;

  • Robert Forrester, CEO of Vertu Motors PLC, runs the 5th largest automotive retailer in the UK with an astounding turnover of £2.4 billion per annum operating across 110 sites. A previous director of Reg Vardy PLC, hear how Robert grew the business from a standing start.
  • Peter Hiscocks, serial entrepreneur and senior lecturer in entrepreneurship and innovation management at Cambridge University, Peter has started nine companies, is chairman of three companies and on the board of an additional six and believes making new ventures grow faster should be every entreprenur's target.
  • The Millers, Keith, Jacqui and Gary, make up the formidable sibling trio responsible for Miller UK Ltd, recognised globally as the world’s largest privately owned attachment manufacturer within the construction vehicle industry sector. Hear first-hand the challenges faced of working with your siblings, the good, bad and sometimes the ugly.
  • Cameron Saul, Bottletop, has the ambition to make his business the world’s leading sustainable lifestyle luxury brand. Bottletop was founded on the basis of ‘doing good whilst looking good’ and was launched in 2002 by Cameron and his father, Roger Saul, founder of iconic British fashion brand, Mulberry, after a voluntary trip to Uganda.
  • Scaling up: a panel of high growth North East business owners - chaired by Graham Robb, Recognition PR - discussing the different stages of business growth, including: Richard Lane (durhamlane), Mohammed Bashir (Boro Taxis) and Andrew Tomlinson (Andrew James).

Fortune Favours the Brave is very much about getting under the skin of those who take chances and finding out what happens when you do – because it’s only when you step out of your comfort zone or are faced with a seemingly ‘make or break’ moment that you’re really tested.

Take a day out of your business, to work on your business. Learn from those around you, soak up the wisdom of others and be inspired.
