Member Event with Geoff Thompson, Utilitywise

The North East’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015, Geoff was born and bred in the region and is fiercely proud to have built an organisation which employs a large number of people across the area.

As a science graduate with an MBA from Newcastle University, Geoff has previously held senior posts in consultancy and in industry, before gaining specific energy expertise whilst supporting energy supply companies to acquire new customers.

After seeing a gap in the market in 2006, Utilitywise Plc was born with four employees, which then grew quickly to around 217 employees by 2012, before it floated on the London Stock Exchange with offices in North Shields, Chesterfield, Redditch, Portsmouth, Bury St Edmunds and Prague.

Growing year on year, today Utilitywise operates across Europe and the UK and now has a headcount approaching 1,300 employees across the group.
