Focus Dinner with Justin Urquhart Stewart, Seven Investment Management

11 November 2014, 18:30 - 21:30

Jesmond Dene House, Jesmond Dene Road, Newcastle upon Tyne NE2 2EY

By popular demand we are welcoming back of a friend of the Forum at this event as Justin Urquhart Stewart makes a return visit to the North East.

Two years ago Justin gave a passionate and typically upbeat presentation at the Chairman’s Dinner; this time he will share his knowledge and comprehensive experience in the more intimate setting of a focus dinner.

Since he was last here he became the winner of the Best Industry Commentator 2012 title at the City of London Wealth Management awards, an indication of the esteem in which he is held by professionals and consumers.

Justin has a keen interest in developing the investment market to break down as many of the traditional barriers as possible for both private investors and smaller companies. As part of this he was involved in the original development of the AIM market and the investor educational company, Proshare.

In 2001 he co-founded Seven Investment Management, an investment management business that introduced the first Sterling Investment Wrap Account. The company now manages and administers around £6 billion on behalf of professional financial wealth managers and intermediaries.
Last time Justin memorably paid tribute to the “dynamic” Forum saying if it ”could be copied throughout the UK we would have a stunning economy.”

His advice for entrepreneurs was: “Talk to people. Constantly. We all have chums and they all have insights; take the elements you can pick up from them. An entrepreneur is part of a group, you are just helping to lead it. We Brits are often held back by pride but we should ask for help. I have never heard anyone turn round and say no.”

This is a great opportunity to take up that advice and join like-minded business owners and an enthusiastic champion of the British economy for analysis and insightful commentary on a host of pressing issues.
