Can you help us beat cancer in 2022?

Over the past 20 years, the Forum has helped raise over £500,000 for local charities and we want to set our members a new challenge which will push us all outside our comfort zones.

This year to celebrate our 20th anniversary we have stepped up our charitable goal by setting a £20,000 fundraising target. It is our hope that you will join us in undertaking this charity challenge and together we can raise £20,000 for amazing causes close to our hearts.

So join us by becoming one of our Forum Intrepid Adventurers for this mammoth challenge, taking on the beautiful Kielder Water, and circumnavigating the 27 miles shoreline trail by foot in one day.

Once you've signed up to Challenge Kielder, we'll send you everything you need to help reach your fundraising target.

You'll receive by email:

• A fundraising pack
• Training plan
• A route maps
• A checklist for what you will need on the day

Option One (The Full): 27-mile circumnavigation of Kielder Water, starting and finishing at Leaplish Waterside Park*

Option Two (The Half): If you’d like a slightly shorter challenge, then you can join in half way around. You’ll get a later start time with the idea that the Full team will join you to walk the second half together

If you don’t want to walk, but do want to get involved please get in touch. We’d love a support crew to help with pitstops for the adventurers on route.

It’s going to be tough and we’re looking for you to help raise funds to support either our nominated charity ‘Business Beats Cancer Newcastle’, or a charity of your own choosing. Our former CEO, Jonathan Lamb, sadly lost his life to cancer and we will be raising the funds in his memory.

Business Beats Cancer Newcastle is a new initiative launched in 2021 by Cancer Research, who are also celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2022. Business Beats Cancer Newcastle brings the North East business community together to beat cancer with all raised funds going towards lifesaving cancer research right here in the North East.

Please note:

*Storm Arwin caused considerable damage to the planned route with Lakeside Way which has been badly affected with fallen trees. In the event that the walking route is not fully open by July, alternative routes at Kielder will be used for this event.

The £20,000 raised throughout 2022 will be split over a number of charities chosen by our members. If you are taking park in your own charity challenge please let us know who you are supporting and the total raised so we can add it to our collective total. Together we can reach £20,000!
