An award winning Sunderland firm is celebrating its tenth year in style.
Whitewaters, specialists in the design and construction of luxury residential swimming pools, were recently awarded two Gold Awards in the Swimming Pool and Allied Trades Association (SPATA) National Design Awards.
Beating off stiff national competition from over 130 entrants, this is a first for a North East company, and the first time that a local project has been awarded Gold. Historically the awards have recognised London based contractors with large projects under their wing, so the two awards have extra meaning for Whitewaters.
Winning Gold in the categories of ‘Residential Indoor Pools up to £75,000' and ‘Inground Domestic Spas and Health Pools', the founder of the company, Mick Guthrie, said, "The team at Whitewaters and I are absolutely delighted to be recognized by SPATA in these categories. The awards position us firmly as the up and coming contractor in this sector and it's great that our Sunderland based firm is standing tall amongst the competition."
Whitewaters was established in 2002, originally operating from a showroom in Washington, Tyne and Wear. It began with a customer base in North East England but soon established a strong reputation and expanded their reach by working with a network of associate architects, engineers, builders and developers.
After the awards ceremony in London, Whitewaters were appointed to design and build a sub-basement pool complex as part of a high profile project in London for a celebrity client.
Mick continued:
"The awards have certainly boosted our profile, and we're very much looking forward to getting started on this exciting project. We believe that every customer has distinct, individual requirements, and that our service should be infinitely flexible to ensure that these requirements can be met. We'll certainly be continuing this approach as we seek to grow the business over the next few months."
