New Kit and Equipment with Funding from Barclays

Newton Aycliffe based business BTS Facades & Fabrications today announced expansion plans with new funding from Barclays.
Established in 2006, BTS Facades & Fabrications is based at Woodham Road, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. The family business is run by brothers Philip and David Atkinson. The company specialises in the production of metal rain screen systems and fabricated metal construction products and is able to produce bespoke products with many of their clients operating blue chip companies. The new funding from Barclays has enabled them to invest in new machinery which will help automate much of the process.
Philip Atkinson, Managing Director for BTS Facades & Fabrication said: “We’re delighted to be expanding the business and decided that we needed to be able to increase production and offer new products. The new machinery will enable us produce more flexible and bespoke products at a faster rate enabling us to take on new clients and increase output. We work alongside building designers to understand the overall project vision to make sure the work that we do will interface seamlessly into the completed construction. Barclays has once again supported our growth plans with funding and enabled us to complete very quickly on the new equipment.”
BTS Facades & Fabrication employs 50 people locally and turnover is expected to exceed over £6million this year with the new machinery.
Michael Wicks, Barclays Business Relationship Director put together the funding package for the deal, and said: “We’ve worked with the Atkinson family for some time now and they run an excellent business with years of experience in all types of complex fabrication systems. The new equipment will speed up manufacturing times and enable them to take on new clients and projects, consolidating their long term growth plans.”
