Chris Graham, Director Climb Newcastle Limited said: “We are delighted to be expanding our business to open a second climbing centre in the up and coming Ouseburn Valley. The centre will help to bring in a new generation of climbers at an exciting time for the sport, with climbing making its debut at the Olympic Games in 2020. Barclays has been working with us for over ten years now to support our growth strategy and moved quickly to put the funding in place for the second site.”
Climb Newcastle Limited employs over 15 staff and turnover for the current year is expected to exceed £500k.
Paul Smith, Barclays Senior Business Manager arranged the new funding package and said, ‘’I’ve been working with Andy, Chris and Darren since 2007 and helped them with their initial start-up, so it’s great to see them expanding to a second site. It’s so rewarding working with customers to achieve their long held dreams and provide them with not only finance, but guidance and support. We look forward to seeing the continuing growth of this well managed and ambitious business.”
