Simon began his Architectural career in 1989 after graduating from Leeds School of Architecture with a Distinction.  In 1992 he moved to Browne Smith Baker in Darlington where his dedication to the profession led him to become a Partner in 1998 at the age of 33.

In 2003 his entrepreneurial spirit dictated that he needed a new challenge, and Simon joined Niven Architects, helping the firm become one of the leading architectural practices in North East England.  

With over 20 years experience, Simon has worked on a wide variety of project types and as Director, he leads the in house project teams and shares his design and project management expertise among the wider team.  

A keen advocate of the Partnering Contracts for building procurement and Quality Assurance procedures in the office, Simon has seen the firm achieve ISO 9001, with ISO 14001 targeted for the near future as part of the practice’s commitment to ensuring the highest environmental credentials.

 “It has been tough for architects and construction firms over the last two years.  However, we now have a number of exciting projects coming through and we’ve added to our staff as a result.”
