Venue:

Jesmond Dene House Hotel
Jesmond Dene Road, Newcastle-upon-Tyne NE2 2EY

Date & Time:

The property market isn't one for the faint hearted, and after almost three decades in the sector, Duncan Young has experienced every extreme high and low.

With strong entrepreneurial instincts, Duncan positioned Sanderson Young to capitalise on the boom of Newcastle Quayside developments, and also ride out the bust.

Duncan's mettle has been tested by the recession and stagnation of the housing market. However this did not stop him launching his rare! brand, that experienced its best year ever in 2011.

Join us for this unique chance to discover the opportunities Duncan has identified in the current climate, as well as the challenges he's faced and overcome.

More about Duncan.....

Duncan began his career in Northumberland in 1984 then spent 12 years with GA Property Services, becoming Northern area director and divisional director of GA Town & Country covering Scotland to the Midlands.

Eventually tiring of corporate life, in 1999 he bought the residential agency of Sanderson Townend & Gilbert, with six staff and 30 houses.

Within five years Sanderson Young had grown to 60 staff, five offices and 800 properties in the mid-upper market range and expanded its services to include selling new homes for developers, arranging mortgages and finance, and managing lettings and investment portfolios.

A strong web presence combined with print advertising and new developments like an iPhone app all play their part, embracing new technologies to hold their footing firmer.
