Date & Time:

There is simply no better way to develop your business than to listen to the experience of those who are leading the growth of their own ventures.

This month, join us to hear the behind-the-scenes success story of an individual equally gifted in the areas of both sport and business.

During a Q&A format, businessman and former world-class rally driver Malcolm Wilson will steer us on a journey of his lessons learned. He'll uncover both the successes and mistakes, which ultimately drove him on to set up a thriving business M-Sport (formerly Malcolm Wilson Motorsport) and became one of the world's leading private teams, with a string of international titles and rally wins to its credit.

Our hugely popular open events offer knowledge-sharing and inspiration in equal measure. Since open events are a benefit of membership, they are always well attended and are a great opportunity to mix with like-minded peers.

To pose the questions, we are privileged to have former Chief Executive of Storey Carpets and Entrepreneurs' Forum member Simon Heptinstall to chair this event for us. Malcolm will be joined by his son Matthew, who himself is a World Rally Championship driver.

More about Malcolm.....

A self-made success, Malcolm Wilson has more than 20 years' experience of rallying at World Championship level, much of it with Ford. As a driver he won two British national titles in the late 1970s and achieved a long-held ambition by winning the British international crown in 1994, all at the wheel of Ford Escorts. He drove for three factory teams in the World Championship and spent several years as Ford's chief test driver, developing new rally cars.

Under his guidance, M-Sport has become one of the world's leading private teams with a string of international titles and rally wins to its credit, including victories at World Championship level. As director of the Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team at its magnificent Dovenby Hall headquarters in the heart of the English Lake District, Malcolm has responsibility for Ford's WRC activities and the development of its Fiesta Sport Trophy programmes.

Ford has finished runner-up in the Manufacturers' series on numerous occasions under M-Sport, but the highlight came in 2006 when the Blue Oval won the FIA World Rally Championship for the first time in 27 years. It was followed in 2007 by a second WRC title.

M-Sport also operates a thriving customer business for private teams. It assists Ford drivers with programmes world-wide involving the Focus RS WRC, the Ford Fiesta S2000, the Ford Fiesta R2, GpN Ford Fiesta ST and, new for 2011, the all-new Ford Fiesta R1 and MS1 as well as the ground-breaking Ford Fiesta RRC and RS WRC.

Attendance at this event for Forum members is included in their membership package.  Members guests are charged at £15 + VAT, and non-members £50 + VAT. Please note that cancellations received within 72 hours of the event will be charged in full.
