Date & Time:
In the ever-changing world of tax it’s important to keep up to date with the latest threats and opportunities.
In affiliation with Forum partners PwC, the Entrepreneurs’ Forum is delighted to invite you to an early evening gathering, which will go some way to address some of the topical issues that are likely to affect your business in this ever changing business landscape.
This event will be introduced and facilitated by Jonathan Greenaway, Assurance Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers Newcastle. Jonathan will then hand over to expert speakers Lee Stamp, senior manager at PwC in the North East and Stuart Stalker, senior manager at PwC corporate tax team in Newcastle
The session will include the following topics;
- Have you got the right business structure? – Many private business structures are no longer optimal following significant changes in the commercial, legal and tax landscape. We will look at what has changed, how the changes may have impacted your business and what can be done about it.
- Corporate Tax reliefs – Research & Development tax credits and Enterprise Zones - With a 225% deduction for qualifying costs from 1 April 2012, all businesses should be assessing their ability to make R&D claims. We also look at what the new Enterprise Zones will mean for businesses.
- EIS and the new Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme - EIS offers 30% income tax relief and capital gains tax relief for investment in businesses whilst the new Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme offers even more attractive reliefs for investors in smaller, early stage businesses. We look at some of the traps to avoid and how eligibility could be achieved for individuals who might currently miss out.
