15th June 2010 - Plain & Simple Leadership - a fast, focused and straight-talking guide to fulfilling your potential as a leader, Members-Only Lunch with Steve Radcliffe

Plain & Simple Leadership - a fast, focused and straight-talking guide to fulfilling your potential as a leader, Members-Only Lunch with Steve Radcliffe
Venue:  Business Centre-Room 2, Hilton Hotel, Bottle Bank, Gateshead
Time: 12.30 – 2.30 pm

  •  What is it that you stand for in your business, how and why do you work and where do you want to be?
  •  How do you keep yourself and your team fully motivated and energised?
  • What style do you adopt as a leader?
  • And more importantly - How can you make yourself better?
We invite you to a powerful leadership session, delivered using a highly effective and proven coaching style to help our members identify what’s most important to you as business leaders.

Although in business there is no substitute for making the leap and getting started, there is much to be learned from those who have been there and done it.

We are privileged to have in our region, Steve Radcliffe for a whistle stop visit to talk about what makes a great leader, how leaders of companies can do better, common faults in leadership and how to get the best results.

As the UK’s No 1 leadership coach, with an impressive client list –Richard Baker – Alliance Books, Chris Pilling - First Direct,  Andy Duncan - BBC, Niall Fitzgerald of Unilever and Reuters to name a few, Steve’s success has been based on his low-key, no-nonsense approach..
During lunch, this straight-talking Lancashire man will make a profound difference to how you think and focus as a leader, concentrating on the three single principles:-

·         Future - What is your future looking like and how will you make it happen?
·         Engage – How will you get the buy-in from those you need on board to help you?
·         Deliver –  Ensuring you have the tools and the team to drive success

Steve’s talk will also draw on managing your own energies (Intellectual, Emotional, Spiritual and Physical), before moving on to help managing the energy of those around you.  His delivery is peppered with anecdotal evidence and of course, he will be talking about some of the ideas expressed in his latest book.

His aim is always to be relevant rather than be known as ‘the interesting bloke with an interesting theory’.  For anyone that wants to be more effective in difficult times, either individually or organisationally, his theories on good leadership, which can be found in Future, Engage, Deliver, sit above any specific ideas on leadership.

Originally from Wigan, Lancs, Steve is an Oxford graduate who has founded his consulting practice on a wealth of business experience including working for Procter and Gamble and with Tambrands where he was UK Marketing Director, President of an acquired cosmetics company in Los Angeles, and finally Vice-President in Europe.

However, what Steve has made his life’s work is to be a partner, guide and coach to leaders. He has watched leaders for 20 years and read more than 200 books on leadership making him a highly experienced practitioner coach and consultant.
More recently Steve published his first book and in November, he was picked as a ‘rising star’ by the compilers of ‘The Thinkers 50’ list of the most influential management thinkers.

His belief is that anyone can be a good leader – from the school dinner lady right up to chief operating officer level.  We can all make a bigger difference!

To whet your appetite and engage your brain on leadership matters, please visit our Entrepreneurs’ Forum TV site by clicking here where Sir Clive Woodward offers his opinion on crucial leadership topics.

This is a members-only event and is charged at £35 + VAT.  As places are strictly limited, please note that we will have to charge in full for cancellations within 48 hours of the event.

A light lunch will be served prior to the main talk, with sufficient time allowed as the event concludes for your questions.
