The Entrepreneurs’ Forum are delighted to be welcoming back to the North East entrepreneur and World Cup winning coach Sir Clive Woodward OBE, to deliver a one-off half day master class on the challenges facing leaders and their teams in today’s fragmented workplace.  This is guaranteed to be an unforgettable, instructional and genuinely inspirational afternoon.

 

Widely recognised as one of the UK’s finest sporting coaches, Sir Clive Woodward has spent most of his professional life building High Performance Teams. Named Coach of the Year at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year presentation in December 2003, he went on to be knighted later that same month.

 

Whilst gaining 21 caps for England and touring twice with the British Lions he forged a successful business career with Rank Xerox before establishing his own IT leasing company and has hands on experience of business at the sharp end. In both business and sport he is not only a winner but a true innovator. On becoming England’s first professional full time rugby coach in 1997 he was uncompromising in his pursuit of the Web Ellis Trophy.

 

Sir Clive first addressed a Forum audience back in 2004 at our inaugural Conference and since then moved into the Football League in 2005, by becoming Performance Director at Southampton Football Club.  He is currently elite performance Director for the British Olympic Association, spearheading Team GB’s preparation for the London 2012 Olympics.

 

By combining the skills he developed on the rugby pitch and in business, Sir Clive demonstrated very clearly that a winning team starts with a winning approach to leadership.

 

At the time Clive was appointed England rugby coach, the sport was dominated by the three southern hemisphere teams, with England ranked number six in the world.

 

A clear focus and unprecedented attention to detail rewarded Clive and his team with England’s greatest sporting achievement since the 1966 Football World Cup, winning the 2003 Rugby World Cup.

 

Clive’s success is based on an evolutionary approach and having re-written the rule book he argues that any team is always effectively a work-in-progress as management, coaches and players combine together to constantly identify new ways to improve performance and be the best they can.

 

It’s all about creating differentiation – doing the things that your competitors aren’t – and building a competitive advantage. Sir Clive believes it is champion individuals who make champion teams and we’re delighted that he will be sharing his philosophy, principles and practices for the benefit of Entrepreneurs’ Forum members and guests.

Attendance for Forum members and their guests is charged at £75 + VAT and priced at £95 + VAT for non-members.  Please note that cancellations received within 24 hours of the event will be charged in full.  A light lunch will be served from 1.00pm, prior to the start of the master class at 1.45pm.   The event will close at 5.00pm.
